To help you to understand the entrepreneurial mindset we have developed a mnemonic, where each letter of the word MINDSET corresponds to 1 essential entrepreneurial behaviour. For example, [M] Meet real needs. See the picture opposite for the full mnemonic.
Our MINDSET mnemonic is based on a systematic analysis of published research and professional practice. It provides an overarching framework and a practical definition of the mindset which can be applied in a variety of work sectors and personal circumstances.
The MINDSET mnemonic a straightforward way of giving you a quick grasp of what the entrepreneurial mindset is all about. You should find it easy to remember and it will quickly help you to recall your 7 essential entrepreneurial behaviours.
The seven behaviours can be considered individually and also in combination. They stand alone and also reinforce each other, giving a coherent and robust definition of the entrepreneurial mindset.
Our new book "Entrepreneurial Mindset" is the definitive guide to the practical use of the entrepreneurial mindset. Step by step it explains what the mindset is and how to put it into practice. The first 3 chapters introduce the entrepreneurial mindset, explain the benefits of having the right mindset and describe how you can learn to think and act like an entrepreneur.
The following 7 chapters explore, in turn, each one of the 7 essential entrepreneurial behaviours that make up the mindset. Each chapter is packed with helpful questions, practical examples and self-assessment exercises. The final chapter summarises the power of the entrepreneurial mindset.
The book is relevant to a wide range of organisations and sectors, whether you are employed in a private company, in the public sector or in a nonprofit organisation.
